Ditch the Hustle: An 80/20 Tale from My Leaf-Littered Pool
It was driving me crazy for years…
I live in a leafy area, with trees everywhere.
I also own a pool.
These two factors do not always blend well together.
Particularly when things get windy.
I thought I was stuck with it.
And hence, I was spending way too much time cleaning
the pool.
Even though we have a pool guy who visits once a month.
But recently, I started analysing more closely where
the leaves were coming from.
And I noticed many of the leaves were dropping from
the trees immediately around the pool.
So we had a gardener shave back the trees immediately around it.
And then bought a bigger basket for the pool so it didn’t
need to be constantly emptied.
The end result.
We 80/20’d the pool.
Now I haven’t scientifically measured it, however my
guess is there’s 80% less leaves landing in it.
