I put everything I had into it… but I was still struggling.
At the age of 17, I cut my teeth with cold calling.
And when I started my second business at the age of 24, I went back to it.
But my prospects were (understandably) skeptical.
And it was a slow burn.
Had I seen a headline back then along the lines of…
“When Cold Calling isn’t Enough”
It would have grabbed my attention. It wasn’t until I started writing emails that things became magnetic for me, so this would have been the perfect way to kickstart a pitch for an email marketing program.
And the same principle can be applied to other industries.
If you know your target market has been attempting something and not getting the results they’re looking for, it’s one of the best headlines you can use.
For instance, let’s say you’re an entrepreneur who has been listening to a guru talk about hustle and content, content, content…
And you feel like you’re going around in circles…
A headline along the lines of…
“When Hustle and Content Marketing Alone Aren’t Enough” Followed by a sub-headline like:
“The latest research shows this approach is causing thousands of people to stagnate, and stopping them from growing their business – but there is a better way”
Could grab their attention.
Chaz Horn could use something like this for his strategy of moving people to LinkedIn Lives to further the sales process.
Likewise if you’re a fitness expert like Zac Mason with a unique approach, something like…
“When Diet and Exercise aren’t Enough”
The latest research outlines why most people get it completely wrong – because they ignore these hormones
Would make people open their eyes.
How about you?
What are your prospects doing which you know isn’t enough?
Why not test it as a headline?
