Want to Make Your Headlines More Powerful?
Stop just chasing the shiny objects…
Contrary to what we’ve been led to believe, the “fundamentals” of copywriting (& marketing) haven’t changed.
Yes, we now have Facebook Ads.
And Chat GPT.
And TikTok.
And we’re bombarded at every angle from social media.
Yet human nature remains the same – as Dan Kennedy has famously stated…
“Everything Old is New Again”
And when I was in the Perry M. Roundtable mastermind several years ago, he used to say: “If You Want a New Idea, Read an Old Book”
For instance, two decades ago I started out cutting my teeth on Yellow Pages ads (remember them?).
And one of the failsafe strategies was to warn your reader.
For instance, let’s say you flipped to the plumbing section, and a headline bounced out at you along the lines of:
WARNING: Don’t Hire a Plumber Until You Read This
It would be hard to ignore, right?
The same concept could easily be applied to Google Ads today.
And it could literally work for any industry.
For example, a dentist could say…
Don’t Buy Braces for Your Child Until You Read This The Single Biggest Mistake Parents Make, Which They Later Regret
A life insurance company could say…
Don’t Get This Popular Medical Procedure Until You Read This
And a sunscreen company could say…
Don’t Swab Sunscreen on Your Skin, Until You Read This
See how this works?
So how could this apply to your business?
